INTERNATIONAL FORUM "THE SPORTS FACILITIES" - proceedings of the congress
FOR THREE DAYS THE OLYMPIC CITY IS THE INTERNATIONAL CAPITAL OF SPORTS ARCHITECTURE From October 20 to 22 Torino hosted the INTERNATIONAL FORUM «THE SPORTS FACILITIES». From October 20 to 22 in Torino took place the International Forum: the 280 participants - who came from different countries such as Spain, United Kindom, Africa, United States, France, Czech Republic, Croatia, Russia – were very interested to: « The sports facilities. Planning, design, building, management ». Satisfaction for the success in Regione Piemonte , Provincia di Torino , Città di Torino , CONI , Italian National Olympic Committee TOROC – Organizing Committee for the XX Olympic Winter Games Torino 2006 and Agenzia Torino 2006 , the Government Agency in charge of the execution of the Olimpic works: the institutions which promoted the congress. During these three days, professionals and technicians met managers and designers from all over the world, not only to face the thechnical and managerial excellence of the works built on the occasion of the XX Winter Olympic Games, but also to consider the crucial issue of the installations post Olympic use, trhough the experience of the past host cities. Four were the sessions of the forum: the managerial methods of the works execution process; the relation between the contracting centre and the designers ; the connections with the enterprises (the supervision of big building sites, the problems faced and solved); the technical solutions adopted . Saturday October 22 the tour of the Olympic installations of Torino 2006 , in order to show the Olympic legacy and think about their use after the Games.
