The new facility is a combined run for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton, artificially refrigerated. It is located in the Pariol Locality, near San Sicario in the Municipality of Cesana Torinese. The facility was designed to satisfy both the needs of high quality sports techniques necessary for an Olympic competition, and to enable new athletes to approach the sports disciplines, as well as for tourist use.

The plan subjected to the strategic environmental assessment procedure was developed taking into account post-Olympic requirements as well. In particular, it was integrated with the local situation so as to create an integrated pole: In fact, ski runs from the Via Lattea converge near the facility and are near the intermediate station of the new Cesana-San Sicario cable-car.
