The new facility is a combined run for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton, artificially refrigerated. It is located in the Pariol Locality, near San Sicario in the Municipality of Cesana Torinese. The facility was designed to satisfy both the needs of high quality sports techniques necessary for an Olympic competition, and to enable new athletes to approach the sports disciplines, as well as for tourist use.

Several service buildings are located near the track:

• A launching building where all the necessary services for the three different sports to start are concentrated: bobsleigh and skeleton starting line, men’s luge starting lines, women’s luge starting line.
• A building for the junior starting line.
• The arrival building including the competition management and medical services
• The weight room, where the athletes terminate the race and leave the track
• The technical services complex where the refrigeration facility is located
• Staff building
• The push start building, which contains sections of runs that simulate the three different starting lines where athletes can practice.
• Bar/restaurant located in the entrance area

The plan subjected to the strategic environmental assessment procedure was developed taking into account post-Olympic requirements as well. In particular, it was integrated with the local situation so as to create an integrated pole: In fact, ski runs from the Via Lattea converge near the facility and are near the intermediate station of the new Cesana-San Sicario cable-car.
